Donald Glover is currently in negotiations to appear in Sony’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

The Marvel superhero reboot is set to begin filming at the end of this month, but details on Glover’s role are being kept under wraps.

Tom Holland, who debuted his Spidey in “Captain America: Civil War,” will be joined in the Sony movie by new cast members: Michael Keaton as a villain, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Zendaya as the female lead.

Tony Revolori (“The Grand Budapest Hotel”), Laura Harrier (“One Life to Live”), and Kenneth Choi (“American Crime Story”) have also been cast.

Glover had previously campaigned for the part of Peter Parker. A grassroots social media campaign launched in 2010 around the actor, who starred in the comedy series “Community.”

The Twitter and Facebook campaign focused on colorblind casting in reaction to five white actors who were reportedly on the “short-list” to play Spidey.

Glover’s Twitter followers (@MrDonaldGlover) launched a coordinated attack using the hashtag #donald4spiderman, which quickly became the third top trending topic in the U.S. for several hours on Twitter. The Facebook group “Donald Glover 4 Spiderman!!” also amassed thousands of fans.

Amy Pascal is producing along with Marvel president Kevin Feige. Indie and television movie filmmaker Jon Watts is directing.

Glover is represented by WME, MGMT Entertainment and Ginsburg Daniels.
