‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Recruits Jon Favreau to Reprise ‘Iron Man’ Role

Jon Favreau is set to return to the Marvel Universe in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Homecoming” as Happy Hogan, TheWrap has learned.

It should come as no surprise to fanboys as Tony Stark (“Robert Downey Jr”) is appearing as Iron Man in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

Tony Stark now has his driver tagging along, last seen in the “Iron Man” films.

Meanwhile, Disney is so bullish on “The Jungle Book,” which hits theaters back in April, that it is already in talks to bring back Jon Favreau as director and screenwriter Justin Marks for a sequel, an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap.

“The Jungle Book” has made more than $900 million worldwide.

Jon Favreau can next be seen as an actor with frequent collaborator Vince Vaughn in “Term Life.”

Sony and Marvel have made it clear that director Jon Watts’ reboot — with a script by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers — will focus on a high school-aged Peter Parker.

“Spider-Man: Homecoming,” produced by Produced by Amy Pascal andKevin Feige, will be released on July 7, 2017.

Favreau is repped by CAA.

Sony had no comment.
